ICIJ has been awarded the Karpoor Chandra Kulish International Award for the second year in a row, this time for its Offshore Leaks investigation.

The 2013 KCK award was presented by the Rajasthan Patrika Group of Newspapers at a ceremony in Jaipur, India earlier this month. ICIJ director Gerard Ryle accepted the honor by video, and paid tribute to ICIJ’s Indian partners who have helped push the issue of financial transparency firmly onto the government agenda.

“The Indian government is actually starting to use some of our work, particularly in their black cash investigation,” he said. “I look forward to working with more reporters in India in the future.”

ICIJ shared the award and the $11,000 prize with the Indian Express, which was recognized for its reporting on allegations that high-level Indian government officials accepted bribes as part of a deal to purchase a new fleet of helicopters.

Last year ICIJ won the award for its 2012 Skin and Bone investigation on the shadowy trade in human tissue.
