Tracie Mauriello is ICIJ’s communications director and a veteran journalist who contributed to Pulitzer Prize-winning reporting on the Tree of Life synagogue shooting.

As an investigative reporter for The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Tracie exposed a $27 million corruption scheme known as Bonusgate, which led to the convictions of two former state House speakers and reshaped Pennsylvania’s political landscape.

She has worked as an accountability journalist for publications including Chalkbeat Detroit, Bridge Michigan, the Springfield (Ohio) News-Sun, the Waterbury (Connecticut) Republican-American, and The Herald in New Britain, Connecticut.

A 2019 Knight-Wallace journalism fellow at the University of Michigan, she holds a master’s degree in journalism from The Ohio State University and a bachelor’s degree in English literature from Central Connecticut State University.
