Metin Munir, Turkey, has worked as a journalist for 50 years.

Starting in the 1970s, he wrote from Turkey for a number of international outlets including the Financial Times, BBC, Washington Post, and ABC. He started in investigative journalism with the Insight Team of the Sunday Times under the editorship of Harold Evans. Munir was also a columnist for some of Turkey’s leading newspaper titles. Like many journalists, he was fired for opposing the Erdoğan regime. He now writes regularly for, Turkey’s most respected web newspaper.
