Angelina Nunes, Brazil, is currently a freelance reporter.
Nunes was an assistant editor at O Globo newspaper, coordinating a team of reporters that covered public administration, education and health.
Nunes started as a broadcast journalist at the television stations Manchete and TVE, and radio MEC. As a print journalist she’s worked at O Dia newspaper. At O Globo, Nunes’ team won the prestigious Esso Award, and the King of Spain and FNPI awards, for “The Assets Men at Alerj,” an investigation into how legislators got rich while in office. Her team also produced one of the 30 stories that won the award, Every Human Has Rights, from the United Nations after exposing thriving businesses in Rio’s shantytowns. Nunes is a board member – and past president – of Abraji, the Brazilian Association for Investigative Journalism.
