Become an ICIJ Insider: Help us stay fearless and independent

Today, we're launching a new community for our donors, called ICIJ Insiders. Won't you join us?

I’m Gerard Ryle, ICIJ’s director.

Today, we’re launching a new program for our donors, called ICIJ Insiders.

I want to take a moment to tell you a little bit about ICIJ and why I believe your thoughtfulness can help to make it an even more fearless and trusted organization.

ICIJ was founded in 1997 on the premise that abuses of power do not stop at borders and the best way to hold the powerful to account is through global reporting partnerships.

When I first joined ICIJ, seven years ago, I was amazed. As an investigative reporter who had witnessed sweeping newsroom cuts, I couldn’t believe such an independent, nonprofit organization existed.

ICIJ is committed to exposing the truth and holding the powerful to account through unprecedented reporting collaborations.

That’s why today we’re launching a new membership program so we can continue this important work together. Individuals who support our work with regular donations will be called ICIJ Insiders.

I hope you will take advantage of this exciting opportunity to join our community today. Your donations will allow our reporters to follow the story further, to dig deeper and to ensure our collaborations have greater impact than ever before. But more than that, your support will guarantee ICIJ remains completely independent and wholly dedicated to telling the world’s most important stories.

Our cross-border investigations empower local communities to engage in global conversations about broken systems and abuses of power.

Today, we’re inviting you to be part of that conversation, to change the rules, to change the course of journalism and, together, to change the world.

If you have any questions, I will be doing a live question and answer on Thursday 7pm ET on ICIJ’s Facebook page. So come join in!

Do you support the work we’re doing?

Yes, I’ll set up a monthly donation today!

ICIJ is dedicated to ensuring all reports we publish are accurate. If you believe you have found an inaccuracy let us know.
