Rana Sabbagh, Jordan, is executive director of Arab Reporters for Investigative Journalism, the Amman-based media support network promoting investigative reporting in nine Arab countries.
In 28 years of professional experience in the Middle East, Sabbagh has served as editor of the Jordan Times and was the first woman to run a political daily newspaper in the region. Sabbagh is a former Reuters correspondent in Jordan and the United Arab Emirates and she helped start Jordan's second independent newspaper, Al Ghad. She writes a regular opinion column for Jordan's Al Arab Al-Yawm newspaper and for the London-based Al Hayat daily newspaper. Sabbagh also is the Jordan correspondent for The Times of London. She sits on the jury for the UNESCO international media prize.
