Antonio Cucho is ICIJ's web developer. His professional focus is on the creation of interactive news and civic technologies, open data, data journalism, open source and web design.
Prior to joining ICIJ, Cucho worked for Univision (U.S.) in the data journalism and data visualization teams, where he was focused on the development of interactive storytelling, designed and developed graphics for investigative articles and covered different issues for the digital platform.
Cucho was one of the co-founders of independent Peruvian news website Ojo Publico, where he participated in the organization's first investigative project, Sworn Accounts, which probed the assets of mayoral candidates in Lima. The investigation was awarded the 2015 Data Journalist Award for Best Investigation in the small newsroom category.
Cucho was senior fellow at the School of Data, where he worked to empower civil society organizations, journalists and citizens with skills to use open data effectively. In Peru, he organized workshops on data-driven journalism with the Hacks/Hackers Lima community and led the Open Data Day (2014 - 2016).
